Recipe for OVEN French Toasts

INGREDIENTS

1 baguette of brioche, crusty sourdough, or French bread that is at least a day old Eggs whole six 1 cup milk whole 1/2 cup cream for heavy frothing One tablespoon of vanilla essence 1 teaspoon nutmeg cinnamon dash 4 tablespoons plus additional butter to grease the pan

STEP-1

Butter and set aside a 9-by-13-inch baking dish that has been greased.

INSTRUCTION

STEP-2

After slicing the bread into 1 inch thick segments (1/2 to 1 inch thick), halve each slice.

STEP-3

– Mix together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large bowl. After dipping each slice of bread in the milk mixture, arrange them in an overlapping fashion in a baking dish.

Step-4

Cover the bread with the remaining milk mixture and place under foil to rest for a minimum of one hour In preparation to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F. Cover and bake the French toast for an additional 30 minutes.

Step-5

To make cinnamon sugar topping, combine one teaspoon of cinnamon with two tablespoons of sugar. Remove from foil and spread melted butter on top, followed by a cinnamon-sugar mixture sprinkled on top.

Step-6

Continue baking uncovered for 15 minutes. After a brief cooling period, serve tepid.
